Christmas trees?

There's no such thing as a stupid question. Christmas trees got their name because they look like Christmas trees.

Ok, so you'd have to have had some pretty weird holidays if your tree looked like a subsea installation but, even so, that's the legend.

Personally, I think they look more like the Pompidou Centre. However I understand operators were already using subsea installations before the Paris Arts Mecca was built and they needed a snappy name asap.
