Metal-seated Ball valves

I have heard that you supply metal-seated ball valves in addition to soft-seated. What applications would metal-seated ball valves be more suitable for over their soft-seated varieties?

Thank you for your question.

Metal seated ball valves are typically suited to applications involving highly viscous or harsh abrasive process media. The hard metal ball(s) and seats will not wear compared to soft seated valves, performing for much longer in harsh service environments.

Additionally, metal seated ball valves are capable of withstanding higher operating temperatures. The hard metal ball(s) & seats will not deform compared to soft seated valves due to service conditions involving elevated temperatures.

Oliver metal seated products may be rated to temperatures of up to 290degC (554degF) using a Kalrez seal option.
