The Oliver Valves Environmental Policy

The Oliver companies ensure that all processes carried out across all of our manufacturing and production sites have a minimal impact on the environment. We actively promote the recycling of materials associated with the manufacturing and transportation of our valve products as part of our environmental policy.

All of the products that we manufacture do not contain any components which in their designed parameters are harmful to the environment.

We communicate to our purchasers that valves should be disposed of in an environmentally conscious and responsible manner after use.

Specialist process mediums or products used when manufacturing our products and in our services are disposed of in accordance with health and safety legislation requirements, as well as Local Government Authority guidelines and requirements.

We are committed to working closely with the Local Authority on any matters affecting the environment, resulting in by-products of valve manufacture being disposed of through refuse reclamation or effluent disposal.

We work closely with North West Water and fully comply with the Water Industry Act 1991, particularly in the discharge of trade effluent associated with valve production.

Our companies promote the use of energy-saving devices and actively encourage energy-saving issues on all three sites through the use of power-saving devices inclusive of VDU power savers, lean lighting etc.

Although ‘Oliver’ are not BS EN ISO 14001 formally registered, we recognise our customers’ commitment to environmental issues.

Where a company practices the implementation to and compliance of BS EN ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems, we will to our ability, adhere to appropriate environmental issues concerning a contract.

The ‘Oliver’ Health, Safety & Environmental policy is displayed clearly on the TV screen in our main reception area and on company notice boards across the company premises. A copy of the policy is available to staff via its company library and is available to interested parties on request.
