Oliver Valvetek to Supply North Sea Redevelopment Field

The Murlach offshore redevelopment oil field was previously known as Skua and is located in the North Sea, 203km off the coast of Aberdeen, Scotland. The project, jointly operated by BP Exploration Operating Company (BPEOC) and NEO Energy Central North Sea is due to commence production in June 2025.

To support the project, Oliver Valvetek is to supply a number of specialist subsea valves. Scope of supply includes 2 1/16″ API6A 10K rated Flanged valves with a 3/8″ bore Double Block and Bleed Needle valve bolted to the flange.

Oliver Valves secured a DBB order destined for Indonesia

Oliver Valves engineering teams in both England and Kuala Lumpur have supported the bidding process to supply numerous Double Block and Bleed valves to the Akatara Project. Akatara is a conventional gas field located onshore Indonesia.

As part of the order are DBB valves designed for Cryogenic applications. Valves have been manufactured with an extended bonnet to withstand extreme cold temperatures down to minus -320DegF.

Total completion of the order is expected by the end of January with final shipment to Indonesia expected to be mid-February 2024.

Joint order win for Oliver Valves and Oliver Twinsafe

Oliver Valves were awarded the scope of work to supply more than 500 flange-by-screw, sample and injection Double Block and Bleed instrumentation valves with 10 mm bore. The order also includes a number of flange-by-flange full bore pipeline DBB valves in both carbon steel and stainless steel manufactured by pipeline valve specialist – Oliver Twinsafe. Valves will be shipped direct to the world’s largest oil production project located in the Republic of Iraq.

For our Company Founder and Chairperson, Dr Michael R Oliver OBE DL, his lifelong dedication to charitable work is equally important and fulfillingđź‘Ź.

Dr Michael R Oliver OBE DL, Chairman of Knutsford based Oliver Valves Ltd, a company making ultra-high pressure valves for the oil and gas sector and also for hydrogen and carbon capture applications.

The business was established in 1979 in Michael’s garage at his home in Hale. The original valve that he designed is still in production today with over five million examples world-wide having been delivered. The company produces over 8000 different types of valves for instrumentation, pipeline, subsea and green renewables such as; Hydrogen and Carbon Capture applications.

Dr Oliver’s company employs 350 people in Knutsford and has offices in Kuala Lumpur handling the Asia Pacific region, Dubai handling the Middle East area and Houston Texas handling the USA.

The company’s clients are all the major energy companies world-wide, including Shell, BP, Exxon and Chevron.

Michael was awarded the Order of the British Empire by the Queen at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace in 2012. He has also been a Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire since 2011 and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering for his services to Engineering in Cheshire by the University of Chester in 2013.

Michael and his wife Jennifer, support numerous charities, including East Cheshire Hospice and the Hospice at Home Scheme and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Oliver Twinsafe Supply Pipeline Valves to Qatar’s NFPS Project

Manufactured to customer’s specifications, a number of 12” Double Block and Bleed, Class 1500 Pipeline Valves are currently in build. These valves have Inconel 625 weld overlay in the sealing areas as well as Inconel 718 trim materials to ensure maximum resistance to corrosion and longevity in service.

The order is for part of Qatar’s North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) project with the valves heading for The North Field, which is the largest natural gas field in the world.
